Business Description:	Located in the south of the island, at the heart of the tourist area, Tenerife Sur airport was opened by Queen Sofia on 6 November 1978. In its first year of operations, the airport handled over a million passengers. From opening to the end 2006, a total of 173,912,207 passengers had used its facilities. Tenerife Sur airport is open 24 hours a day. Currently it offers more than a hundred connecting flights and its greatest activity levels occur on Fridays and during the winter season. More than 150 companies work on the premises. In 2006 a total of 8,845,668 passengers, 65,774 flights and 9,414 tonnes of cargo were handled.
