Q. Name and business enterprise.

A. Chris Ross, Tenerife Insurance Services S.L..

Q. How long have you been operating in

Tenerife?

A. I bought the business in 2001 from the previous owners who had owned and run the company for about 20 years

   Offer our fellow Premium Members a little background into your business.

  Our main business is all types of insurance (cars, houses, health, travel etc.) but we do much more besides.  We are associated with professional Estate Planners to do your wills as well as offering plans for investments, pensions and Life policies to name but a few.

What we offer people is the opportunity to "be responsible, be free", as the Liberty advertising puts it.  This means that all those clients that choose to take out an insurance policy or any other type of business through Tenerife Insurance Services do so in the knowledge that they are well insured and that they have a professionally run agency and insurance company behind them should the need arise i.e. when making a claim.

Q. How do you view your business market at present?

A. The financial market place in Spain and the Canary Islands is undergoing some radical changes, specifically in the Insurance Industry with the requirement since July of this year to be legally registered with the DGS (similar to the FSA in the UK) and to undergo minimum amounts of training each and every year, thereby ensuring the public are dealing with more professional and legal advisors, which we all know has been a big problem in the past!

Q. How do you see the future for your

industry?

A. Increasingly the requirement to operate in the financial markets will become more and more stringent as Spain and particularly Tenerife impose and comply with EEC law.  All of which has to be good for the public and a good thing for the legitimate businesses.

Q. What are your views on Business Pages Tenerife, and bptenerife.com?

A. Long overdue!  The big difference from the other pretenders is that you understand the market better, providing everybody with web access to the directory as well.  I wish you continued success.

Q. How do you see Tenerife's future as a whole?

A. Its a nice hot place to go for a holiday.

 I just forgot to go home!
